金澄荔枝开发有限公司成立于2000年，注册资金捌拾万元。公司属下有专门荔枝科研的桥头荔枝研究会；有约200亩无核荔枝科研生产基地及无核荔枝苗圃。

Jin Cheng (金澄) Lychee Development Co., Ltd. was established in 2000 with a registered capital of eight hundred thousands yuen ($800,000 RMB). The company has a dedicated research facility and orchard in QiaoTou (桥头) . It consists of 200 acres of seedless Lychee plantation and a nursery to produce and nurture young saplings.

The company is established for the research, field production and marketing of a super quality seedless Lychee cultivar.

Recent developments that have completed include :

① the establishment of a seedless lychee research and commercial production orchard

② a seedless lychee nursery for the production and maintenance of young saplings

from existing pure A4 & A13 stocks

③ an effective orchard practice and application of patented phyto-chemicals, producing

a super seedless lychee crop

④ patent registration of the phyto-chemicals developed and the brand name registration of “Jin Cheng Superior Seedless Lychee” 金澄超级无核荔枝 in China

⑤ meeting its goal of commercial production and testing the export market in Europe in

2002

Future plans on the agenda include:

① setting a time frame to grow the company into a global enterprise by the end of 2010

② establish the brand “Jin Cheng Superior Seedless Lychee” 金澄超级无核荔枝 in

the international markets

③ to develop and research into the possibility of a year round crop harvesting. Make

possible the availability of this super seedless lychee fruit to the consumers year round

A year round harvesting can be accomplished by:

1. orchards location staggering in both the northern and southern hemisphere, to complement the year round climate requirement in the different stages of the growth of a lychee crop. For example one in Hainan, China and one in Brazil. It allows two crops, one mature in June and the other in December. By refining the geographical location and planting schedule it may be possible to have a crop maturing in each calendar month. The ultimate goal is a to create a monthly harvesting and marketing schedule of this seedless crop to the consumer

2. research into the initiation of flowering and fruit setting anytime in the year by altering the environmental factors, such as temperature and number of day night hours, and implement a special practice of delivering fertilizer and chemical stimuli under a green house, large scale potted plants production scheme.
